Can I drop my beloved stuffed friend in person?
Yes! I prefer that. Ideally between 10am and 5pm, Monday to Friday, but I can accommodate other times if necessary.
Do you accept toys by post?
Yes, though please post them via Royal Mail, 24 hour tracked/signed service, on an agreed date. Then I will make sure I am home to receive delivery.
Where are you based?
I’m in Leyton E10 – East London
Are you a shop?
I work out of my home. There is just little old me, sewing away and answering all the enquiries.
How quickly can I have my friend back?
I only take in a few toys at a time, so you can be assured that they will be dealt with right away. Most toys can be returned within a few days, though this can be longer if I need to order parts or fabric. In the winter months, when I have my heating on and can dry toys quickly – uncomplicated repairs can be done the same day. If you can drop off early morning and collect just before bedtime that is!
How much will the repair be?
I will give you a quote once I’ve seen the extent of the repair required. A guideline price list can be found on the main Toy Repair page.
Do I need to pay a deposit?
Only if I need to purchase something in advance of your visit. Otherwise payment is due on completion – before, or when you collect your loved one. I will email you a photograph of the completed work and an invoice with my bank details. Preferred payment is by Bank Transfer, or cash, but I can also accept Pay Pal or card payments via iZettle, however, a small fee will be added to cover the bank charges.
Do you repair plastic toys?
My skills are limited to the soft, stuffed variety, and fabric rocking horses of course! I have been known to re-elasticate the arms on a wooden monkey, but this was purely a one off!
